The United States has over 28 million people with
hearing impairment and it is the 3rd most common
chronic condition in United States. This includes
hard of hearing, late deafened and oral deaf.
Ninety percent of
the people with hearing loss are hard of hearing and
the greater part of the medically deaf is late deafened.
One out of every three adults over 65 has a hearing
loss. Only a small percentage of the hard of hearing
and late deafened may benefit from hearing aids and
implants. Speak N Read device is designed for the
majority of hard of hearing and late deafened who
have extreme or profound hearing difficulties, and
for that matter can not derive any benefit from
hearing aids and implants.
Speak N Read (SNR) is a portable assistive listening
devise (ALD) for extremely hard of hearing and/or
profoundly deaf persons. It uses advanced speech
recognition technology to communicate with
hard-of-hearing and profoundly deaf without the use
of sign language or lip reading.
